Responsibilities
Tasks and responsibilities
Under the responsibility of Sont Oo Tehtwin Board of Directors, and in close collaboration with Entrepreneurs du Monde’s social microfinance unit and technical assistance team, s/he:
- Ensures the good governance of the company and compliance to the local regulations, while cultivating good relationships with authorities
- Shares regular and transparent information with Sont Oo Tehtwin Board members and the various EdM staff involved in the programme
- Leads a regular Management Committee, conducive to the circulation of information and decision-making
- Contributes to the definition of social and environmental objectives; coordinates and reports on progress to the board of directors, while suggesting measures to improve results and mobilise the entire team in this area
- Actively participates in the definition and implementation of the programme financial strategy, budget and operational planning, while progressively building the MFI’s sustainability and autonomy
- Is proactive in producing structured, comprehensive analyses useful for decision-making on operational dynamics, while demonstrating a good knowledge of the field and defining SMART action plan to improve the indicators and performance in consultation with the operations team
- Proposes new services in line with the MFI's strategy and social mission, while coordinating and monitoring the opening of a branch or the deployment of new services.
- Oversees the financial management of the company and the production of reliable reports and financial information for different stakeholders (budget monitoring, treasury management, prudential ratios, audited statements, …)
- Participates in the recruitment, initial/continuous training, and appraisal of local teams, especially Management Committee members, while taking sensible decisions in the event of HR disputes
- Formalizes, disseminates and promotes the adoption of responsible HR practices by all staff, ensuring an effective social dialogue and decent working conditions, taking into account the MFI's budgetary constraints
- Facilitates the implementation of Audit Department recommendations validated by the BoD, while ensuring systematic implementation of AML-FT procedures.
- Is able to promote SOO’s specificities and its vision of social microfinance, and ensures a good communication with donors, partners or prospects, while collecting and consolidating relevant information, and drafting qualitative proposals and reports on schedule
- Ensures the suitability of the MIS for the MFI's needs, while sharing accurate data on time and on demand, and suggesting corrective measures in the event of identified deficiencies
